We are delighted to welcome transition year students to the School of Food for our tailor-made Cookery Workshops. It is so important to show teenagers the importance of eating good, home cooked food and our ethos of ‘from seed to plate’ is made all the easier with our Market Garden outside, jam packed full of fresh, delicious vegetables.
On arrival, transition year students are brought to our garden for a quick tour during which they will pick a selection of vegetables to use in their cookery class afterwards. A typical menu can include leek fritters and aromatic vegetable curries, all warming your belly after a busy morning cooking up a storm. Of course, we also use our veggies to concoct some sweet treats including beetroot brownies, nutty flapjacks, sweet potato cakes and more.
We also offer longer ongoing programmes including:
- Product Development
- Mini Chef Training
- Healthy Eating Made Fun!
- Meals in Minutes
